“I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me…” Lois A. Ivory was born in Battle Creek, Michigan and grew up as the eldest of 7 siblings in a two-parent household on the westside of Detroit, attending schools in the area before going on to Wayne Community College. She is a certified Esthetician, a p rofessional makeup artist for the living and deceased, a Permanent Makeup Artist, a Notary Public and Wedding Officiant and currently the CEO of Ashes to Beauty Finding Your Inner Self LLC. Lois has also been a regular writer for many years and has two makeup magazines - Ashes 2 Beauty Show Me What You Slayy and Ashes 2 Beauty: Finding Your Inner Self 2018 Christmas Edition. She previously worked in collaboration with her son on publishing a book, Different Shades Of Beauty, which they created for children. A recipient of numerous awards, today Lois lives on the East side of Detroit with her cat, Mercibella, and is the mother of two grown children, Donald and Shaylynnkinne. In her free time she enjoys ballroom dancing, making DIY crafts and natural cosmetics. She is also always seeking new ways of empowering women to look and feel good about themselves and teaching the children's ministry at her church. Her hopes for the future include empowering and inspiring all women of color and help them heal from past trauma and become more aware of their strengths, standards, and boundaries.
